SWIR Lens Interface Descriptions

C-Mount: A C-mount lens has a male thread that mates with the corresponding female thread on the camera. The thread is nominally 1 inch (25.4mm) in diameter with 32 threads per inch. Also designated "1-32 UN 2A" according to the ANSIB1.1 standard for unified screw threads. The flange focal distance is 0.69 inches (17.526mm).

CS-Mount: A CS-mount lens has the same male thread as the C-mount, 1 inch (25.4mm) in diameter with 32 threads per inch. Also designated "1-32 UN 2A" according to the ANSIB1.1 standard for unified screw threads. The difference between the two is that the CS-mount has a flange focal distance is 0.49 inches (12.526mm). A C-mount lens can be adapteded to a CS-mount camera using a 5mm adaptor.  A CS-mount lens can not be used with a C-mount camera.

Universal Thread: A universal thread mount lens provides a male thread that mates with the corresponding female thread on the camera. The thread is nominally 42mm in diameter with 1 thread per millimeter. Also designated as M42 x 1mm".  The flange focal distance is 1.791 inches or 45.5mm.

Nikon F-Mount: The Nikon F-mount is a style developed by Nikon for their 35mm cameras. The interface involves a three tab bayonet design with a 44mm throat and a flange to focal plane distance of 46.5mm.

Canon FD-Mount: The FD lens mount is a breech lock mount; the female  side of the bayonet is on the lens. The flange to focal distance is 42mm.

M42x1 Mount (FPA at C-mount distance): Similar to the universal thread described above, the lens includes a male thread that mates with the corresponding female thread on the camera. The thread is nominally 42mm in diameter with 1 thread per millimeter. The flange focal distance is 0.69 inches (17.526mm).
